Batmanghelidj, M.D. , Author of 'Your Body's Many Cries for
Water' believes the answer
to be a resounding YES! It was while he was a political prisoner
that he discovered the amazing healing qualities and power of
water. Being a doctor, he was allowed to treat fellow prisoners
(without the assistance of medications!), and treated severe peptic
ulcer pain for one prisoner with two glassess of water (the pain
subsided within minutes) with instructions to repeat the treatment
every few hours. He did extensive research into the medicinal
effects of water in regards to pain and degenerative diseases.
The Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology in June 1983 published
the findings of his research, which was also reported in the New
