Free Cabbage Soup Recipe & Diet

The cabbage soup can be eaten at any time you feel hungry during the day, and you can eat as much as you wish as often as you like.
Ingredients:
½ to1 whole head of cabbage
6 Onions
2 Green Bell Peppers
1 Bunch scallions
1 Bunch Celery
6 Carrots (optional)
16 oz. Green beans (optional)
1 can V-8 or tomato juice
1 Bunch Celery

One 28 oz. can crushed or diced tomatoes
1 Package Lipton Onion Soup Mix
Black pepper to taste
1-2 Cubes of beef or chicken
bouillon or ½ cup balsamic vinegar
(bouillon or vinegar optional)
1-2 Cans Diced Tomatoes
Herbs to taste

Cut vegetables into small pieces, combine all ingredients in a stockpot and add enough water to cover. Boil fast for 10 minutes. Reduce to simmer and continue cooking until vegetables are tender. Makes about six quarts. EAT AS MUCH AS YOU WANT WHENEVER YOU WANT, ANY TIME OF THE DAY. Per cup with the minimum additions: 34 calories, 1 gram protein, 8 grams carbohydrates, trace fat, 0 mgs. Cholesterol, trace saturated fat, 64mg. sodium

DIET PLAN:
· Day One:
Fruit:
Eat all of the fruit you want (EXCEPT BANANAS). Cantaloupe and watermelon are lower in calories than most fruit. Eat only your soup and the fruit for the first day. For drinks- unsweetened teas, cranberry juice or water.
· Day Two:
Vegetables: Eat all the fresh vegetables you want, raw or cooked, along with your soup. Try to eat leafy green vegetables and stay away from dry beans, peas and corn. You may also have a big baked potato with butter on your vegetable day.
· Day Three:
Mix Days One and Two: Eat all the soup, fruits and vegetables you want. NO BAKED POTATO OR BANANAS
· Day Four:
Bananas and Skim Milk: Eat as many as eight bananas and drink as many glasses of skim milk as you would like on this day, along with your soup. This day is supposed to lessen your desire for sweets.
· Day Five:
Beef, chicken (without skin) or fish. You can eat 10 to 20 ounces and as many as 6 fresh tomatoes. Drink at least 6 to 8 glasses of water this day to wash the uric acid from your body. Eat your soup at least once this day.
· Day Six:
Eat beef, chicken (without skin) or fish to your heart's content with leafy greens - but no baked potato. As on Day 5, be sure to drink water and eat your soup.
· Day Seven:
Brown rice, unsweetened fruit juices and vegetables: As much as you want. Be sure to eat your soup at least once this day. At the end of the 7th day, if you haven't cheated, you will have lost 10 to 17 pounds. If you have lost more than 15 pounds, stay off the diet for at least two days.
Remember: No substitutions; no bread, etc.; no carbonated beverages. No fried foods - all meats must be broiled or baked.


Note: The above diet is copied from a newspaper article from April 9th, 1996.
The article also contains a cautionary note, stating that some doctors and nutritionists warn that the diet plan isn't nutritionally balanced and "could be harmful to heart patients because of the enormous 20 ounce limit of beef and the high sodium content in the onion soup mix." As with any diet, it is best to consult your health practitioner before you begin.

With any major change in diet or eating habits, it may be best to first check with your doctor/ health professional before starting any new regime. Also, many times a person's inability to shed unwanted pounds may be due to many contributing factors. Even the desire and necessary actions taken to accomplish changes in weight may have very poor results, causing extreme frustration and prompting the question "Why doesn't anything work??!!"

The answer may be as simple as taking some other actions prior to starting a new diet regime in order to get optimal results from a change in eating habits. One of the steps that may be necessary to take is a cleansing and detoxifying of the body.
